For the third Saturday night in a row Ahane's canine superstar Bentekes Bocko proved victorious once more ,winning the hard way this time after encountering a troublesome passage through the race .

Winning in a very decent time of 28.60 Bocko again broke swiftly from Trap 2,showing impressive early pace and made every yard a winning one .

Bocko then earned a favourable draw for the semi final after being drawn in Trap 2 in the second semi final .

A large group of supporters from Ahane were in attendance including a guest from Galway staying in the parish for the night ,2016 and 2017 Cheltenham Festival winning trainer PG Kelly who commented

"I know a small bit about horses and an  smaller bit about dogs but I'll tell you one thing : If Bocko gets two more rail draws he will take a lot of batin ."

All roads again lead to Limerick Greyhound Stadium next  Saturday night for the semi final .Special mention must also be made of club chairman Colm Barry who participated in the inter club Challenge Race on the track after racing .Colm finished the race well and looks in need of a farther trip after  conceding a considerable weight for age allowance to the field !
